Donations to the Capital Wing will keep our Military Aviation History Alive!

The CAF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and volunteer museum. All donations are tax deductible. To keep our past history alive for future generations and to the memory of the fallen, the Capital Wing is constantly seeking artifacts and monetary gifts to ensure this legacy. Your contributions allow us to keep this history alive for future generations. Click the menus at left for more information about helping us build and sustain that legacy.

The Capital Wing gratefully accepts cash donations to help offset some of the costs of aircraft and museum operations. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Your donations will help to ensure that we can display and fly its aircraft and artifacts as a flying museum to the public. You'll have the opportunity to support the Museum during your lifetime and in perpetuity. Donors can also donate to a particular aircraft of their choice. As a non-profit organization, we are able to offer donors the maximum charitable tax deduction permitted by law. You may wish to make a current gift based on this year's tax situation and to distribute grants from the donation in future years. With planned giving, you will be keeping our history alive for years to come. You may be able to reduce income and estate taxes, pass property tax-free to heirs, receive increased income for life and still be able to leave a substantial amount to the Museum.

   Become a Monthy Hangar Sponsor!

The single largest recurring monthly expense for our unit is the monthy rent for the hangar at $2,500. Hangar Sponsors start at a monthly donation of $25 for a Bronze Sponsor, or you can support the facility that protects our aircraft at the Silver Level of $50 or Gold at $100. All donations and the sponsors are recognized annually by the Capital Wing and are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law!

Our BT-13 aircraft experienced a loss of power and vibration on the downwind leg, but the pilot was able to make a safe, essentially power-off landing. The engine overhaul cost estimate plus other accessories work needed, freight, and parts result in a complete overhaul that will cost $78,000. As a result, we have located a used engine and are in the process of installing it to get the BT-13 back in the air in 2021!  While the costs are substantialliy less, there isstill a substantial need. All donations are tax-deductible under our 501 (c) 3 status. The funds will go strictly for contracted repair, overhaul and materials. All labor will be performed by volunteers.

Note that regular credit cards are accepted.

Donations of Artifacts

The Capital Wing has an ever growing display of WWII memorabilia for public view. Our collection encompasses many items donated by CAF members representing their personal military exploits and accomplishments. Others have been given to us by veterans and their families wanting to see history preserved. If you or your family have such items we are most interested in obtaining them for our collection.

The CAF also operates American Airpower Heritage Museum (AAHM) in Midland Texas, which is fully accredited. This museum displays items of historical significance and tells the story of air power in WW II. The AAHM also has a collection of "Nose Art" and one-of-a-kind collections such as Peter Hurd paintings and sketches. For more information on museum see website.

Artifact Information:

It is very important for the Museum to learn as much as possible from the artifacts being accepted, history of artifact and who is donating the artifact. Artifacts from soldiers, airmen, sailors, marines, WACS, WAVES and home front are all appropriate.
